Deliveroo’s subscription service shakes up $2.6b market

Online food delivery company Deliveroo has launched an $18.99 monthly subscription service, as it battles Menulog and Uber Eats for the $2.6 billionfood delivery market.

Deliveroo claim the so-called Deliveroo Plus service could save customers $25 or more by offering unlimited delivery but will lock in customers with a subscription model similar to Netflix and Spotify.

Public data on the food delivery battle is limited but google search trafficsuggests Uber Eats has passed Menulog since entering the Australia market in 2016, with Deliveroo third, after Foodora pulled out last year.
