Another food delivery service plans to join UberEats, Zifty, Postmates, and GrubHub in Atlanta. California-based Kitchen United is setting up a shared commercial kitchen center for up to 15 restaurants to open this spring on Menlo Drive in Westside. The fully-equipped kitchens provide locally-based restaurants the opportunity to expand their delivery offerings without disrupting their on-site dining kitchens.
The company has yet to confirm which Atlanta restaurants are in consideration for the kitchens or if they are courting any of Atlanta’s pop-up chefs or supper clubs, saying they’re “in process of filling the space with top national and local restaurant brands.”
…As for how the service works, Kitchen United-Atlanta lists restaurants available for delivery on their website. Customers order food, and restaurants cook the food at the kitchen center. Kitchen United then works in tandem with services such as Postmates and GrubHub to deliver orders.
