ASAP Brings Home and Office Delivery to New York City, an on-demand delivery platform, has begun offering home and office deliveries in New York City.

The move marks the latest step ASAP has taken to expand within the tri-state area. Earlier this year, the company secured an exclusive five-year deal with MetLife Stadium to provide in-stadium ordering during New York Giants and New York Jet Games. It also began food deliveries in New Jersey cities.

“Fans tell us they love using ASAP at MetLife Stadium, and they’re now excited to be able to experience the same excellent standard of service in the comfort of their own homes,” said Carl Grimstad, CEO and chairman of the board of ASAP.

Formerly known as Waitr, the Louisiana-based company has expanded beyond restaurant delivery, embracing its newer “deliver anything” business model. It now offers a variety of items including alcohol, retail, convenience, auto parts and more.

Over the past few years, ASAP has largely shifted its strategy from focusing on medium-sized cities and secondary markets to larger population centers.

A prime example is Bite Squad, a Minneapolis-based third-party delivery provider acquired by Waitr in 2018. It was discontinued later that year in the cities of St. Cloud, Rochester and Duluth but remained operational in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

As of June 30, 2022, ASAP has partnered with over 27,000 restaurants and operates in approximately 1,000 cities throughout the United States with New York City being its largest market to date.

The expansion into the Big Apple puts the company in competition with top national delivery companies like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub.
