NoCo Nosh will soon be delivering to Boulder residents.
The independently-run food delivery service will start there on Nov. 12. NoCo Nosh is still signing up restaurants and drivers for the Boulder market.
“We are in a period that is very worrisome for restaurants,” said Gleidson Gouvei, a NoCo Nosh co-founder. “Food delivery will be key to businesses keeping their doors open.”
NoCo Nosh, started by a collection of Northern Colorado restaurant owners in January 2019, uses independent contractors to deliver food from restaurants of varying cuisines to Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley — similar to how rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft operate.
NoCo Nosh currently partners with hundreds of restaurants and staffs about 300 drivers. During the initial COVID-19 lockdown, the company hired about 60 people from the restaurant industry as drivers to keep them employed.
During the pandemic, NoCo Nosh also began offering contactless delivery.
Unlike other national delivery services, NoCo Nosh only uses local restaurants with their consent. Restaurants have full control over their menu and determine delivery radius restrictions.
About a dozen Boulder restaurants have already purchased stake in the NoCo Nosh branch and will help oversee operations.
