Fort Collins restaurants take on behemoth Grubhub, third-party delivery services

Stung by rising costs from third-party delivery services like Grubhub, a group of Fort Collins restaurateurs is forming its own delivery service with hopes to launch by April.

NoCo Nosh is a little like David taking on Goliath. Grubhub claims to be the country’s largest third-party delivery service.

Last year, Grubhub acquired competitor OrderUp in Fort Collins, nearly doubled the commission it charges restaurants and eliminated local customer service representatives, said Rachel Yendra, president of Gib’s New York Bagels in Fort Collins.

Nosh will join Grubhub and DoorDash, another service that launched in Fort Collins last year, in competing for a share of the delivery market. DoorDash currently has more than 200 restaurants participating in Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley.
