Uber Eats buys tech company to streamline orders

Uber Eats has acquired a tech company that’s known for its online ordering platform in hopes of better managing point-of-sale (POS) interactions between customers and restaurants, Business Tech reports.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Uber Eats, the food-delivery arm of the ride-hailing service, hopes the OrderTalk platform will reduce errors caused by manual entries and streamline workflow by feeding orders directly to a kitchen display monitor or ticketing. The software will allow Uber to integrate directly with both existing and custom POS systems.
