Delivery Startup Homer Logistics to Lay Off Employees, Switch to Contractors

Adam Price believed he could buck the trend in food delivery by employing couriers and providing them with health insurance and other benefits, rather than by relying on contractors.

But his New York food-delivery startup Homer Logistics Inc. sent layoff notices last week to nearly 300 of its employees and, he said, may shift to a contractor model after all.
